Competence Training
Aflac sells policies that pay cash benefits for hospital confinement, emergency treatment, and medical appliances. Aflac's business goals for IT are to improve predictability and on-time delivery of projects. Understanding project management execution was considered to be fundamental in achieving these improvements. By comparing Aflac results with the Standish database of more than 80,000 projects, Aflac was able to identify their project strengths and weaknesses. In understanding most critical weaknesses, Aflac was able to focus their competence training on the high value items. Aflac experienced a 30% improvement in project delivery in just one year. This presentation will cover the Aflac case.
